Yoga EASE: Sacred Practice

Today we honored the need to create sacred space.
We recognized that we can do this by simply unrolling our mat and beginning a mindful practice. This can mean simply sitting in silence and focusing on breathe with intention to refill our well, refresh our awareness and check in with our internal experience.

Movement and Asana -

  • utthita trikonasana

  • Strap “vest” for posture awareness

  • Tennis ball acupressure

  • Wave inspired Breathing

Sleeping in the Forest
By: Mary Oliver

I thought the earth remembered me,
she took me back so tenderly,
arranging her dark skirts, her pockets
full of lichens and seeds.
I slept as never before, a stone on the river bed,
nothing between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts, and they floated light as moths
among the branches of the perfect trees.
All night I heard the small kingdoms
breathing around me, the insects,
and the birds who do their work in the darkness.
All night I rose and fell, as if in water,
grappling with a luminous doom. By morning
I had vanished at least a dozen times
into something better.

Spring weather in February feels oh so good and can open up the creative energies ... but to many of us it just leaves us unbalanced.

EASE MantraLook to the trees for grounding and to the skies for expansion ... (and you may just find some inspiration!)
